Definitely let me know how it is. I’m saving up for a Logitech G920 and I want to know what the Fanatec is like.

I can neither confirm nor deny this.

Considering the base was meant to work with real steering wheels such as those from Sparco, Momo, etc, I wouldn’t be surprised if that wheel could actually be put on a car.

I’ll be sure to let you know. I’ll be setting it up later today, hopefully. I’ve heard that the force feedback on F6 is a little lacking, but I know from using mine on iRacing that the force feedback is absolutely phenomenal, and almost as good on Project CARS. Just a difference in programming I guess. Hopefully Turn 10 fixes that.

We live in a day and age where Telsa can make their cars faster with a simple software update. Surely Microsoft can fix the force feedback (which on the controller is pretty phenomenal).

Also, here’s the wheel compared to my Honda’s for size reference.

Ohmygod this was worth every penny. They were right though - it does need just a little more kick in the FFB. But I can control cars again and not spin out at nearly every f$cking turn.

It’s definitely different from my Microsoft wheel on the 360. Wheel’s wider, I feel I got a little more feedback with F4, degrees of rotation are also different so I have to turn the wheel a bit more sometimes for turns. I could probably edit some of the settings in the game menu. I haven’t done that yet. Part of me doesn’t want to - it’s probably a little more realistic this way. Speaking of realism, physics are still a little different compared to F4, so I’ve still spun out a couple times due to that plus degrees of rotation difference. After some more practice, I should be fine. There’s a bit more of a travel distance for the paddle shifters, both for activation and for my hand to reach them. I might be able to mitigate the latter a little by adjusting the position of the paddle handles to be more outside.

Also, my hands are still used to the buttons and everything being in the middle of the wheel . So, there’s that. That’ll take some time to get over.

I haven’t tried it out with FH2 yet, but given how much of a change my experience in F6 was, I bet FH2 will be radically easier than it already was.

Downsides: I don’t see a mic port anywhere on this thing (not that that would be a good idea anyways), so I have no clue how I’m going to communicate and drive at the same time with this. I’m wondering if I could still chat by just having my controller on at the same time with the mic in that. *shrug* Probably not.

Getting stuff setup was also a bit of a pain. I didn’t get a manual in the box and had to look up a pdf online. Calibration was also slightly confusing, but that’s all over with now.

Good to hear! How much did you spend? I’m looking at spending $460 for toe Logitech, and that’s with pedals and a manual shifter included.

(not counting tax/shipping)

Xbox One-compatible Universal Hub PLUS wheel: $399.99
ClubSport V2 Wheelbase: $549.95
ClubSport table clamp: $49.95 (kinda BS that this is separate)
CSR Elite invertable pedals: $159.90 (invertability is optional and cheaper without, mind)

Total: $1159.79, not even including the Formula Carbon wheel I already have (and would not have gotten had I known that I’d need to be getting another wheel to yadayadayadayouknowthestory...). Mind you, this was all paid out over the period of most of this year, starting back in March.

I’m planning on making a serious effort towards iRacing after I graduate this year and get a better position at my current workplace, and the eventual goal is to have a full rig built. I wanted a good wheelset that’s compatible with multiple platforms and would last me a while (i.e. not shitty plastic pedals that break).

I’ve heard good things about the G27, though, and I bet the G29 is a good wheel, too.
